Period you guys need to enable single image support to contain the swap and OS, this dual image support hurts everyone with unnecessary iSCSI sessions or even IS session limits being hit.

Once that's supported, ISO support should go with it.  QEMU cares not what's on the disk, and i know a lot of tools are written around ext file systems, but not every OS is sticking with EXT filesystems.

Both of those things being fixed would allow support for Docker.

We are surprised that more of the OnApp community isn’t more vocal in their chiming in for CoreOS support. Especially in light of how the “AWS/GCE/RACKSPACE-types” as well as the “D.O.’s” were so quick to adopt.

We’ve had both potential and existing clients inquire with earnest as to if they would be able to run containerized instances. As the poster above mentioned, ISO support, if considered alongside CoreOS & Docker, would obviously also be extremely received.

CoreOS is something we would like to see OnApp support as soon as possible.

Requested on 18th november & still pending... God, we pay big in terms of license fees but the adoption is slow. I see all mayor cloud providers which do not use OnApp out off the box supporting this OS. When is OnApp finally jumping in this loop?

Can we have a clear response from OnApp regarding this request. As other's have also stated, your adaptation is HORRIBLY SLOW! We need an official answer on this request. We have actually lost 3 customers to competing platforms in the past 2 weeks because our inability to support CoreOS.

    Hi,

We understand that it's frustrating to wait for something as hyped as this especially if it's affecting business.

Sally will be at WHD next week talking to customers about this to get some further feedback before we commit to a strategy.  We can't give out anymore information other than this at the moment however if you are there please make sure you introduce yourself to her and talk about options that we are considering. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will have that sorted and can proceed to development.

    All the best,

    Stuart

We need CoreOS now. We're losing ground and customers every day it's not there.

Guys this would be very crucial for us all if we want to be able to stay on the edge of cloud services and to be able to match what competition is offering!

+100 (since it seems that +1 is not moving anything) :)

CoreOS support is being worked on now, Docker support is still being planned and we will update when we have further news.

    James,

Is there any update to this? It's been over a year now, and no sign of support as of yet.

CoreOS will be available soon within the OnApp CP.  Were looking at delivering this capability in the Second half of 2016.

I was very happy to hear that you are aiming for a 2016 release. Inability to run CoreOS really inhibits access to platforms like k8s, and cloud is rapidly heading that way.

Would this mean the following enhancements to the OnApp platform generally?
    - Support for non-ext filesystems

    - Support for various networking fabrics (e.g. VXLAN or layer 2 encapsulation between OnApp guests)?

Would love to get early access to this if that ever becomes a thing!: )

In OnApp version 5.1 there is now the ability to run Container Server which enables you to run Docker.  Please see our release page for further details https://onapp.com/v5.1/ and provide feedback about container servers at containerserversbeta@onapp.com
