For example, customer have two vm's based on ubuntu 14.04 template and customer complaints that there is difference between CP ram report and backend server report.
This can usually be seen occurring on virtual machines that have resize without reboot enabled. The kernel will reserve some of the RAM in order to allow the system to function if resized to the maximum memory allowed. The way to get it to show properly or reclaim this memory would be to disable resize without reboot on this virtual machine, or template if you desire, in the database.
So I posted a ticket to Onapp support, https://onapp.zendesk.com/requests/212324
They said that it is only possible to disable Hot-Resize option for the template, not specific VMs.
But I don't want to disable this option for template, if we do that then it will affect all the vms based on this template.
Then Hot-resize option will not work for other vms, it will create issues for other customers.
Please try to disable the hot-resize option only for specific vms, not for template.
