I have a pfSense VM installed but network throughput is really poor.
Sub 50kb/s and web pages usually fail to load from a Windows VM NAT’d behind pfSense.
I see from the pfSense forum this is down to hardware checksum offloading on the Xen hypervisor.
Can your Devs possibly include a line or two in the creation and migration scripts that will automatically find the virtual nics and disable hardware checksum offloading at the hypervisor level for the pfSense VMs?
" sudo ethtool -K VMNICID tx off"
If this could be integrated into the startup and migration scripts so it’s persistent across HV migrations and reboots then we would be sorted.
