    Hi

We are aware of this issue and we have prepared an official guide how to use pigz to take advantage of multicore systems. We are also planning to add pigz support on Coudboot Compute Resources, currently this is under investigation. You can find more details below.

As Very dirty hack you can replace bzip which pigz:

    yum install pigz

    mv /bin/gzip /bin/gzip_bkp

    ln -s /usr/bin/pigz /bin/gzip

Yes. I did replace gzip with pigz a while back, and it works great.

Definitely agree. Especially since this is harder to replace on a CloudBoot backup server.

    #mv /usr/bin/gzip /usr/bin/gzip_

    #update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gzip  gzip /usr/bin/pigz 1
