We have recently deployed a few Baremetal Edge servers and they have been working mostly fine. But there were occasions where we needed for example to change its IPs and we were advised to re-install it.
Recently someone from OnApp contacted us and mentioned there was some python version changed in a Edge server (while we didn't make any change at all to it) and asked us to re-install it too.
I believe you are currently working on the Edge installation script in order to add IPv6 support so perhaps you can also add some improvements in the sense of not needing to reinstall a Edge for any reason and instead have more options available on it to manage the Edges and be able to do more changes if necessary.
Remember that some Edges have quiet a lot of cached data on the hard drives and re-installing it imposes a long time to fill it up again causing degradation on its performance.
