I've added a second network interface to my windows vm but it's not showing up. What's wrong?
All OnApp versions
Windows 2003 VM
Any network changes on a Windows VM need to be done in the UI and then manually added to the VM itself. Here's how to do so for Windows 2003.
VM should come up with a new hardware found dialog box once the VM has had the new network interface added and been rebooted (or rebuild network).
It may come up with an error about the network driver, select Continue Anyway.
If it doesn't come up with a new hardware dialog the client may have already logged in and didn't install it. If so go to:
Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Network adapters -> should show 2 Xen Net Device Drivers, one with a yellow ! next to it. Right click and refresh, that should bring up the dialog box. Install the driver.
Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection 2 Status -> Properties -> select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Properties -> Manually add the new IP address information.
Save the new address, it may pop up with some warnings but just save past them.
Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig
Should show both IP addresses now.
Reboot VM to make sure everything is working.
